In the spirit of Internationalism and deepening of the friendship between Canada and China a special ceremony was held at the Northern China Martyr’s Cemetery. Canada Tianjiao International Education Group and Hebei Medical Institution organized the event, called “Follow Norman Bethune to China”. The ceremony was held at the school campus and at the Northern China Martyr’s Cemetery on March 18, 2007. There were over fifty schoolmasters, instructors, and students from Canada and almost sixty teachers and students from Hebei Medical Institution in attendance at the ceremonies.

The people who attended the activities also include: The organizer and the President of Canada Tianjiao International Education Group, James Zhan and the Chief Representative of Tianjiao Group in China, Guoqiang Feng, several presidents and principals in Hebei Local Government, and many local media representatives.

The delegation arrived at the school at 12 o’clock for a tour around the campus. They then watched the show of the China-Canada culture exchange program, which had over five hundred people in attendance. During the show, the teachers and students gave a wonderful performance, which included taekwondo, Kungfu, modern dancing and Taiji.

After the show the Canadian delegation and the Chinese teachers and students went to the Northern China Martyr’s Cemetery and the Memorial Hall of Norman Bethune. The Canadian friends and Chinese teachers and students recalled the contribution made by Doctor Bethune to China’s liberation and the world peace.

At four o’clock it was time to say “Goodbye”; however, we are certain that we will meet again in the future, because the friendship between Canada and China built by Norman Bethune at the cruel time has joined us tightly forever.

Tianjiao's Cultural Exchange trips are more than just a vacation. You meet real people and experience real life in China. You see what you always have dreamed of seeing and live a life never imagined. First class accommodation, the finest foods, and every detail looked after by professionals who know what you are looking for. Ideal for teachers, students and families, I would recommend Tianjiao as the only way to see China. Definitely more than just a vacation; it's the experience of a lifetime.
