Day 1 Vancouver - Shanghai (International Flight)

Depart for Shanghai via scheduled airline.

Take international flight to Shanghai.

Day 2 Shanghai

July 16 Highlight (Thursday)

Arrive in Shanghai in the afternoon or late evening.

Activities

On arrival, a chartered bus will take you to the hotel. Leisure time will follow registration.

Day 3 Shanghai

July 17 Highlight (Friday)

Reception, networking opportunity, dinner banquet

Activities

Enjoy a full buffet breakfast in the hotel and have a relaxing morning. A reception will be arranged in the afternoon followed by a dinner banquet in the hotel. This is a great opportunity to network with other educators from North America and China.

Day 4 Shanghai

July 18 Highlight (Saturday)

the third session of the Sino-Canada International Educational Exchange Forum

Activities

The Opening Ceremony of the third session of the Sino-Canada International Educational Exchange Forum will be hosted in the auditorium of Haimen Middle School. A group photo will be taken after the ceremony. Three strands with different themes will be held in the morning and in the afternoon. A buffet dinner and performance will be arranged to celebrate this great event. Transfer to Suzhou by tour bus in the evening.

Day 5 Suzhou

July 19 Highlight (Sunday)

Silk weaving workshop, Lingering Garder, Shan Tang Street

Activities

Suzhou is famous for its silk production. Visit to a weaving workshop will allow visitors to understand the history of silk and the unique silk weaving techniques. You can see how the silk is processed from the silk worm to the final woven cloth. Visit Lingering Garden, one of the largest Gardens in Suzhou. Shan Tang Street has around 1500 years history. A walking tour will be arranged on Shan Tang Street.

Day 6 Suzhou – Hangzhou

July 20 Highlight (Monday)

Hupao (Tiger Running) Spring

Activities

Take a tour bus to Hangzhou, and then check in at the hotel. Hupao (Tiger Running) Spring is well-known for its unique fountain. People of all ages highly praise the water after tasting a cup of Longjing Tea with the water from Hupao fountain.

Day 7 Hangzhou

July 21 Highlight (Tuesday)

West Lake , Ancient Style Chinese Tea Ceremony

Activities

After the breakfast, visit West Lake. A Tea ceremony in a tea farm of Longjing Village will be arranged in the afternoon.

Day 8 Hangzhou-Shanghai

July 22 Highlight (Wednesday)

the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Bund, Acrobatic Show (Optional)

Activities

Transfer to Shanghai by tour bus. Visit the famous “ Oriental Pearl Tower” by going up to the top of the tower and enjoy a birds-eye view of Shanghai. In the afternoon, a visit to the Bund will be arranged. The bund now is a well-known waterfront park. After dinner, enjoy an optional Chinese acrobatics performance - a crowd favorite!

Day 9 Suzhou

July 23 Highlight (Thursday)

Yuyuan Garden , Chenghuangmiao Market, Dinner Cruise (Optional)

Activities

After breakfast, visit Yuyuan Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, little rock mountain and arching tress; Chenghuangmiao Market is one of the most popular local markets. Enjoy some free time in the afternoon. An optional dinner cruise on Huangpu River that winds through the city will offer you a great chance to see an unforgettable view of Shanghai at night.

Day 10 Shanghai - Vancouver (International Flight)

July 24 Highlight (Friday)

Flight back to Vancouver via scheduled airline

Activities

Enjoy your last buffet breakfast in Shanghai and have some free time in the morning to get ready for flight back to Vancouver or get some last minute souvenirs. In the afternoon, a chartered bus will take you to the airport where you will begin the journey back to Vancouver.
